The alpine Upper Black Forest, between 500 m and 1495 m above sea level, is home to both biking circuits for the whole family or challenging trails for sport riders. The area offers unequalled variety and has been developed into a top-class mountain biking destination over the past few years. Around 80 kilometres of forest paths and hiking trails have really opened up this low mountain range – which at an altitude of almost 1500 m also happens to be Germany’s highest.
The Upper Black Forest is the first leisure destination in Germany to have introduced E-bikes on an extensive basis. Throughout the whole region, visitors can enjoy a network of rental and recharging stations. One of these stations just so happens to be in the Vier Jahreszeiten am Schluchsee!
Thanks to the electric engine on the E-bike, cycling in the mountains is no longer a problem – a perfect solution for anyone who wants to discover the Black Forest under their own steam and without any limits! Unlike mopeds, this battery-powered steed still allows you to do some pedalling, although tiring head-on winds and gradients are things of the past. And using a modern E-bike couldn’t be easier either:
Turn on – sit on – set off – enjoy!
The engine supports your pedal power to a maximum 25 km/h (min. autonomy 30 km). Riding the E-bike is a totally different feeling from the usual bicycle. It is a healthy form of exercise, which is easy on your leg joints without straining your muscles or heart.
